Adludio has grown exponentially in 2019 and we are thrilled to welcome Piotr Pladzyk to our team. As Head of Technology, he has been hired to manage the development team so that they can ‘happily code their life away’ and come up with new technological solutions and ways of implementing them. His day-to-day responsibilities involve ensuring that product owners, developers and designers alike adhere to the agile values and principles that underpin our methodology of delivery.  

With his rich experience in web/app development, we believe that he will transform the development department and bring them from strength to strength. 

He is also the first in our new series of 8 Questions with...

1. What was your first job?

I created the ordering system for a chemical-goods company at the age of 15. Since then, a lot of similar jobs. My first “normal job” was “a barista” at the age of 29...

2. What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I opened a coffee shop and instantly fell in love. I make a wicked oat flat white.

3. What piece of tech can you not live without? 

All of them, I guess! But I’d say Amazon Alexa. I have recently found myself shouting “Alexa, open the door” when at my friend’s party. 

4. What personality trait do you most attribute to your ability to achieve what you have achieved so far?

Persistence. When I give up on something, it usually is an informed decision after all the options have been exhausted. It gives one a complete piece of mind.

5. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career?

Lazy people. Omg. It is the most difficult thing to manage people who literally don’t want to work. Fortunately, they don’t stay...

6. Why did you want a career in AdTech? 

I didn’t. I came for a job interview at Adludio as one of a series of jobs I was interested in getting to know more about. After an inspiring, honest and open conversation about where we are and where we want to get, I was sold. I wanted in.

7. Can you tell me the most exciting part about the work you and the developers do at Adludio?

It’s seeing the value that our work brings. Accidentally spotting someone using the software you make, can power you up for hours of uninterrupted coding flow. It’s like a clothes designer comes across someone wearing a t-shirt they spent hours on. You feel your work is making a difference. Currently, it’s probably the New Studio and a series of tools for analysis and testing that Campaign Managers will use. Many people are working hard to make this happen.

8. What do you think will change in the advertising industry in the next 5 years?

The delivery methods. People want to engage more and experience it all. They want to be in control and yet be surprised and amused. I think the web technologies, together with immersive AR/VR allow for plenty of experiments around it.
